Why did you want to become chairman of CBoT?

It's a very interesting time to be in a leadership role here. In the next two years, I believe the industry as a whole, and particularly Chicago Board of Trade, will continue to build on this growth. As chairman, I have three main objectives - to complete the restructuring, provide for the growth of the franchise and enhance membership values.

What do you bring to the table as the new chairman and how would you describe your management style?

The chairman sets the agenda and works with the board to set policy. The biggest thing I bring to the board is experience. I've been on the board since 1990.
