Patrick Thornton-Smith, who resigned from his position as director of European sales at SunGard Futures earlier this year, has formed a new company, MarginClick Limited (MCL). Under a joint venture with Exchange Systems Technology (EST), Thornton-Smith has launched MarginClick.com, a margin calculator aimed at the end-user community (see page 13). With a cv that also includes posts with Future Dynamics, Barclays Capital and Rolfe & Nolan, Thornton-Smith has been appointed managing director of MCL and head of the new EST division.
Meanwhile, Simon Raybould, most recently managing director of sales and marketing at Euronext Liffe, has been appointed non-executive chairman of MarginClick. Before joining the exchange, Raybould had worked as managing director of Barclays Capital Futures and head of futures at NatWest Futures.
