International Securities Exchange (ISE) traded its 300 millionth options contract on 14 May, just under three years after the exchange launched. It took the exchange over two months to trade its first one million contracts; one year to trade its first 25 million contracts; 22 months to trade its first 100 million contracts; and less than two and a half years to trade its first 200 million.

Chicago Board of Trade saw a new open interest record last week with a total of 8,611,989 contracts outstanding at the exchange. The previous high - 8.4m contracts - was set in August last year.

Open interest in Chicago Mercantile Exchange's Eurodollar and E-mini S&P 500 futures reached record levels last week with 5,219,020 positions and 755,554 positions respectively on 19 May.
