David Hardy has become chief executive of LCH Clearnet (see front page) with Patrice Renault the new groups' deputy ceo. Hardy has been chief executive of London Clearing house since 1992, while Renault has held the position of chief executive at Clearnet from 1999. The LCH Clearnet board will initially comprise 19 members, including six directors appointed by exchange shareholders (including four by Euronext), six by user shareholders, two by Euroclear, three independent directors, the LCH Clearnet ceo and the deputy ceo. Two of the independent directors have already been named as David Pritchard and Gerard de la Martiniere, the latter being the chairman. De la Martiniere was one of the names behind the launch of the French futures market in the mid-1980s, becoming the chairman of Chambre de Compensation des Instruments Financiers de Paris.
