ISE's first index a shot across CBOE's bow


International Securities Exchange (ISE) announced its first foray into the index options sector last week with plans to launch Standard & Poor's SmallCap 600 index options.

S&P 600 index option, which currently trades at Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), historically has posted little or no volume. Tom Sosnoff, founder of Thinkorswim, the largest index options broker, said he believes the announcement is simply a shot across CBOE's bow.
