Russia mulls grain futures


Plans are afoot in Russia to set up a nationwide grain futures exchange.

Grain producers and traders are increasingly concerned about unrestrained price fluctuations that preclude them from doing forward deals.

Over the last ten years, dozens of agricultural exchanges have sprung up in the country but none of them came up with standard contracts on commodities.
