Philadelphia Stock Exchange late last week announced plans to launch a new electronic options trading system, PHL-XL. Few specific details were available at press time, although the exchange said some of the features of the new system include electronic access to market makers on and off the floor.
New York Board of Trade is launching new currency futures and options based on the Hungarian Forint (US Dollar-Forint and Euro-Forint) and the Czech Koruna (US Dollar-Koruna and Euro-Koruna). Futures will begin trading on 19 September and the options will begin 22 September. The contracts are $200,000 and €100,000 in size and trade on the Finex division from 3.00am to 3.00pm (NY time) with physical delivery.
