Among those making the annual journey up the mountain was Jim McNulty, provoking a good deal of chatter on his farewell tour from CME. Would this be his last visit to the resort, or would we see him back next year, possibly flying the Eurex flag? He surely doesn't need the money, but the irony might appeal.

Whatever his plans, McNulty was keeping a relatively low profile, leaving Bernie Dan as sole Chicago defender of the floor on Saturday's Crossfire panel. Putting him up against Eurex ceo Rudi Ferscha, head of Eurex's new clearing corporation Dennis Dutterer, and former Eurex business-head Andreas Preuss, not to mention the ever-entertaining but less than impartial moderator Patrick Young, Firing Squad might have been a more appropriate name.
