Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) last week listed options on 11 Russell indices, including options on the Russell 1000, Russell 3000 and Russell Midcap indices. CBOE currently lists options on the Russell 2000 Index (RUT), in addition to 37 other index options. Index option business has helped keep CBOE top of the pile in terms of total volume among the US options exchanges.
New York Board of Trade (Nybot) has opened a new coffee and cocoa grading facility at its lower-Broadway location, a short distance from its new home in the New York Mercantile Exchange building. Nybot said the $1.1m, 1,800 square foot operation is now the largest green coffee grading facility in the US. Nybot plans to expand use of the grading facility to the cash marketplace and source countries, thereby enhancing its services to the industry and providing additional revenue for the exchange.
