Eurex and TT ink deal


In a bid to attract liquidity onto its forthcoming US exchange, Eurex is to foot the connectivity bill for customers of Chicago's most widely used independent software vendor, Trading Technologies (TT).

Under the deal announced last week, TT will provide customers free access to the Eurex US platform for two years.

Normally, TT customers are charged incrementally for each exchange that they trade on.

Commercial terms of the deal were not disclosed, though the cost of providing connectivity to Eurex US is thought to be low, as the new exchange will be based on the infrastructure already in place for Chicago Board of Trade (CBoT)'s Ace platform.

In addition to offering free connectivity to Eurex US, TT is offering those mutual customers an upgrade to its X-Trader Pro software, which allows for complex spread trades across cash and futures markets, free for three months.
