CBoT to offer Eurex contacts

Chicago Board of Trade (CBoT) plans to fire back at Eurex with its own competing Bund, Bobl and Schatz futures contracts in February.

According to an exchange memo to members obtained by FO Week, CBoT plans to launch futures on contracts currently traded only on Eurex on 5 February. The move is timed to coincide with the planned launch of Eurex's US futures exchange, which will offer US Treasury futures, currently the backbone of CBoT.
