China launches cotton futures


China's Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange (ZCE) launched cotton futures on 1 June with just over 3,000 lots traded on the opening day.

The product is China's first new futures contract launched since the China Securities and Regulatory Commission (CSRC) clamped down on the overly speculative industry in the mid 90s.
