Lift-off


Eurex US fought back in the battle for US Treasury futures volume last week as its package of incentives sparked record volumes at the troubled exchange. On 13 July, 51,762 contracts changed hands on Eurex US, surpassing the previous record of 40,412, set on 10 February, and accounting for just under 5% of total US Treasury futures volume.

Volume dipped only slightly on Wednesday, to 45,459 contracts traded, and the exchange was on course for another day of strong performance as FO Week went to press.After a modest but encouraging start in February Eurex US volumes rapidly dropped off, averaging just 2,768 in June.
