CME posts record Q2 earnings on back of Globex volume


Strong volume growth on Globex powered record revenues in the second quarter for Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), which posted a 64% increase in net income.

Net revenues rose to a record $187m in the second quarter, up 31% from $142.4m for the same period of 2003.  Net income was $57.3m versus $35m for the second quarter last year. Earnings per diluted share rose 61% to $1.66 from $1.03 a year earlier....
