Regulatory upheaval for Japanese fx brokers

Tougher regulations on margin fx services were being planned by Japan's Financial Services Agency for introduction in 2005, with brokers expecting a shakeout in the sector as a result. New regulations are expected to increase barriers to entry by requiring a minimum capitalisation for brokers and restricting how services can be marketed to the public.
