Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has announced that chief of staff/chief operating officer Scott Parsons will be leaving on 30 August to become executive vice president, strategic and government affairs for Managed Funds Association. Parsons joined CFTC in 1998 as policy advisor to then commissioner Jim Newsome. His responsibilities included advising and representing Newsome on economic and legislative matters. Newsome later appointed Parsons to as the commission's chief of staff/chief operating officer.
