ECX emissions futures on IPE

International Petroleum Exchange (IPE) and Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) announced on 7 September that they have signed a cooperation and licensing agreement to list futures in European Climate Exchange Carbon Financial Instruments (ECX CFIs) on IPE.
Meanwhile, at a press conference during Swiss Futures and Options Association's annual meeting in Bürgenstock, CCX svp Mike Walsh told FO Week that the exchange has applied to Commodity Futures Trading Commission for designated contract market status with a view to launching a futures market for North American emissions. He added that Options Clearing Corporation will provide the clearing service for the market.
