Software supplier Rolfe & Nolan announced Michael Smith as the new coo for North America. He will be responsible for oversight of the operations side of the business, including client services, information technology and exchange related activities. Smith previously spent 19 years as manager of information technology and communications at Prudential Securities in Chicago.

The Clearing Corporation (C-Corp) announced that David Johnson, recently retired md of Morgan Stanley's futures and options division, has been appointed to its board of directors. Johnson spent 22 years with Morgan Stanley and served on C-Corp's board of directors from 1991 to 1997, including three years as president.
