Nikkei market knew of Baring positions
Claims by senior management at Barings that they knew nothing of Nick Leeson's futures and options positions rang hollow with traders involved in the Nikkei market. Several market players indicated that they had been aware of Barings' activities for some time, but thought they were for customers.
