Deutsche Börse has announced the resignation of Lord Peter Levene as a member of the company's supervisory board following the exchange's unsuccessful attempts to buy London Stock Exchange (LSE). Levene said in letter to supervisory board chairman Rolf Breuer: "The original kind invitation to me to join the supervisory board was primarily in order to provide advice and assistance in the company's endeavours to buy [LSE]. Since this transaction is no longer proceeding, I believe that my contribution to the board will be much more limited."
