Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced that it plans to add options on DIAMONDS to its hybrid trading system after 15 July, pending regulatory approval. DIAMONDS represent shares in an ETF designed to track the performance of the Dow Jones industrial average.
Chicago Board of Trade (CBoT) announced that on 18 May exchange-wide open interest rose to a new record, 15.11m contracts, exceeding the previous record of 14.93m set, on17 May. CBoT's Treasury complex also continued to set records. Open interest in ten-year Treasury futures rose to a new high of 2.3m, surpassing the previous high of 2.26m set on 17 May. Open interest in ten-year Treasury options increased to a high of 3.74m, exceeding the previous high of 3.68m set in the prior session.
