StatuesqueYou might remember that last year I told you about CBoT's rediscovery of a pair of statues of Greek goddesses formerly on guard at the exchange but more recently gathering dust in a field somewhere out of town. Or, on the other hand, you might not. Either way, I have recently been informed that the two statues have been cleaned and returned to their original owner and will now be displayed at the exchange on La Salle Street. Good news for the CBoT boys and girls no doubt, but the whole situation raises some questions for me With the Chicago Sun-Times reporting that no-one really knows how the statues left the exchange following the demolition of its old building in 1929, and that they have now "been outfitted with a new limestone and granite base? making the works harder...
