Healthy highs in market volumes


The world's largest futures and options exchanges have all reported strong second quarter volumes with some, including Chicago Board of Trade (CBoT), Eurex and Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), announcing record highs. The figures indicated that last year's growth in derivatives markets has continued.

CBoT experienced record increases on the quarter as average daily volume climbed to 2.9m, a 14.8% increase on the same period last year.
