LME plastics make encouraging debut


London Metal Exchange (LME) has posted its first volume figures for its newly introduced plastics futures contracts, with the two products showing contrasting fortunes.

Since launch on 27 May, polypropylene (PP) has traded 1,141 lots while linear low density polyethylene (LL) has seen 743 contracts change hands, according to the exchange's June volume report.
