Jeffery confirmed as CFTC head


Reuben Jeffery and Walt Lukken were confirmed as chairman and commissioner, respectively, at Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) by the US Senate on 1 July, a move that fills all five CFTC commissioners' seats for the first time since 2002.

Jeffery, who will officially commence his role when President George Bush signs the final paperwork, will serve the remainder of a five-year term that ends 13 April 2007.
