Barings collapse blamed on Leeson
The Bank of England's controversial report into the collapse of Barings blamed the bank's fall on "a failure of management and other controls of the most basic kind". But it also concluded that the collapse was due primarily "to the catastrophic activities of, it appears, one individual" - namely former Singapore futures trader Nick Leeson.
