OneChicago numbers on the up


Single stock futures (SSF) exchange OneChicago continued to post record volumes in open interest and contracts traded last week, apparently due to a growing number of institutions using the exchange.

On 12 July, open interest reached 722,996 contracts with a volume of 1.99m contracts traded for the year in total, surpassing the 1.92m traded for all of 2004. Average daily volume in the second quarter was about 35,000 contracts, up 113% from the second quarter a year earlier.
