Fimat is a relative newcomer to the FCM big league. As recently reported in FO Week, the firm has risen from outside the top ten brokers in terms of customer segregated funds ten years ago to be the number seven ranked firm this year. Laurence Davison spoke to Paul Bethell, head of Fimat UK's futures and options group, about his views on the state of the derivatives industry today and its future prospects.
What do you see as the future growth areas for the industry?
There is still a lot of growth to be had within Europe and the US. In the US, I think you will see record volumes continuing. Firstly, they have gone electronic and secondly, they have been seeing a lot of interest rate movements.
