On 15 July, New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) set a new daily volume record of 1,044,370 contracts, surpassing the previous record of 1,044,261 contracts set on 13 April.

Nymex also announced that it will postpone the migration of its E-Miny crude oil and natural gas futures contracts to electronic trading platform ClearPort from Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME)'s Globex electronic trading platform until 22 August.

Chicago Board of Trade (CBoT) has announced the completion of the first two scheduled delivery periods for the exchange's new ethanol futures contracts. The contracts, launched in March (see FO Week Vol 10 No 11), were designed as a bid to satisfy perceived demand for a reliable and transparent hedging instrument the exchange said.
