CME upgrades ED options


Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) upgraded its electronic Eurodollar options trading functionality on 14 August to offer improved access, expanded trading hours and added liquidity.

The upgrades included easier access to the trading engine by allowing users to connect the options platform through the API of electronic trading system Globex. Connecting via Globex will allow ISVs to offer Eurodollar options on their front ends whereas previously firms needed to use the CME front end to trade Eurodollar options electronically. CME said 12 firms will be providing access to customers.
