A couple of weeks back you might remember I launched an appeal on behalf of poverty stricken hedge fund managers. Well, it seems that some took my tone to be somewhat sarcastic as I recently received this anonymous letter, which I have trimmed a bit as it does start to waffle.
Mr Clarke,I read your article in FO Week entitled "Stop whinging," and I would just like to put you straight on a few things. I am a hedge fund manager with circa $60m under management and I can confirm that it is very hard to make ends meet, let alone find the $1,000 spending money each week and the other various requirements of City life (school fees etc) that you suggest.To have raised the $60m I have had to accept reduced fees from the investors and share my revenues with the various marketers that I have hired...
