Breast foot forward
Following on from my first reader's letter in years a couple of weeks back, I have received yet another, as follows:
Dear Grindlay,Thanks to your readers' very kind and generous sponsorship, I raised nearly £3,000 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer (and the money is still coming in) on my walk this weekend. The whole event raised £5.1m. The weekend walk around London was amazing: I did 45 miles over the two days - officially it was supposed to be 42 miles, but a handful of us took a wrong turn between Edgware Road and Regent's Park! As well as the sense of achievement on completing the walk, the experience was very moving and uplifting as the walkers (of all ages, backgrounds and both sexes) strived for the common cause of helping to raise money to fund research in to breast cancer, its causes, prevention and cure.Thank you once again...
