Carol Burke, executive vice president, general counsel and chief of staff at Chicago Board of Trade (CBoT), left the exchange last week following a board meeting.
A CBoT spokesperson said it was a "mutual decision" by Burke and the board, but sources said her departure was the result of disagreements with exchange chairman Charlie Carey.
