Eurex has announced that 114m contracts were traded on the exchange during November, with open interest exceeding 100m contracts for the first time. Average daily volume was 5.2m contracts. Year-to-date volume stood at 1.16bn, already exceeding the 1.07bn contracts traded throughout 2004.

Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) has revealed November trading volume of 42.8m contracts, up 23% on the same month last year. Average daily volume exceeded 2m contracts. Year-to-date total volume of 427.4m contracts traded was 29% ahead of the same period last year.

ICE Futures (formerly International Petroleum Exchange) has reported that average daily volume increased 30.9% to 184,443 contracts in November. Total futures volume year-to-date was 16.4% higher than the year-ago period, with 38.4m contracts traded. November's volume growth in futures was led by its gasoil futures contract, which grew 48.9% compared to November last year.
