Exchanges could put up CFTC cash


Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) chairman Reuben Jeffery said last week that the proposed budget increase for the regulator was to be spent on salary increases and technology. A proposal from the Bush administration would grant the regulator $125m under the 2007 fiscal budget, up from a stable level of around $100m over recent years.
