Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) announced an agreement last week that would allow CME to host Nymex energy contracts on its Globex trading platform.
The deal, which was expected to begin this quarter, would see the listing of Nymex benchmark and E-miny energy contracts on Globex. That would include crude oil, natural gas, heating oil, gasoline and the availability of Nymex's floor-based products during open outcry trading hours and when the floor is closed.
In the third quarter, all products trading on Nymex Access, the exchange's after hours electronic trading platform, were expected to move to Globex.
