SGX denies Nasdaq merger speculation


Singapore Exchange (SGX) has denied rumours of negotiations with Nasdaq over a possible merger.

In a statement released on 7 April, the exchange said, "Following articles in today's media about the prospect of consolidation among exchanges, SGX would like to take
this opportunity to clarify that we are not in discussions
with Nasdaq on merger and acquisition activity."

The exchange added, however, that it was open to considering partnerships with others  including exchanges, which may add shareholder value.
