Last Turkey in the shopLittle by little more news seeps back to me from the AFM annual conference in Istanbul the other week, where the magnificent hospitality of the host nation and organisation was once again not sufficient to prevent various representatives of the futures industry from making a spectacle of themselves. This week's case in point is a couple of young chaps perhaps not old enough to know better - Patsystems' man in Japan, Duncan Symmons, and Barclays Capital's man in hiding, Tristram Sheehan. To be fair to the gentlemen involved, one can understand how the humiliating experience that lay in wait for them was completely unexpected: after all, if a scantily-clad belly dancer asked you to join her in a ceremonial dance in front of 50 or so of your colleagues, why on earth would you expect anything at all embarrassing to happen?
