Algorithmic trading targeted in Euronext Liffe OS switch


Euronext Liffe has begun the process of switching its Liffe Connect electronic trading platform to the Linux operating system from Sun Microsystems' Solaris in order to better facilitate algorithmic trading.

According to head of global managed services at Atos Euronext Market Solutions (AEMS)' , Allan Mycroft, the decision to switch to Linux had been made over a year ago in part because of the increased pressures on bandwidth incurred by algorithmic trading.
