RCG bids to dispel TT

Rosenthal Collins Group (RCG)'s attorneys have presented evidence in court of what they claim to be prior art which invalidates Trading Technologies' (TT) patents for static price displays.
The brokerage, which was sued by TT for patent infringement last year (see FO Week Vol 10 No 31), presented evidence in court late last month which claims that one Walter Buist created a front-end trading system "no later than 1997", well before TT filed for its patent in 2000. Patents are valid if no prior art was available one year before a filing was made with US Patent and Trademark Office.
