Week at the kneesSo we come to mark the passing of another London derivatives week, a particularly sad moment for me this year because I had the rare opportunity to meet and greet a few of my admirers at the massively improved event venue. The added bonus of occasional glimpses of daylight in particular proved a hit with attendees, along with ceilings designed for people who might not be able to pick up alternative work playing the role of Oompah Loompahs. I have little doubt that the venue had a role to play in what has to have been one of the most vibrant events for years, but whatever caused it there was something in the air - after all, it is certainly not very often that I get hauled aside by a relatively senior compliance officer with the phrase "I can't believe I've met Grindlay Clarke!"
