CME, Deutsche Börse hook-up now on the cards


Recent comments made by senior management at Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and Eurex have fuelled speculation that there may still be some truth to the ongoing rumours that a merger between the European exchange's parent, Deutsche Börse, and CME may take place.

One source told FO Week that comments made by CME chief executive Craig Donohue to a German newspaper, praising its management and drawing attention to the fact that CME and Deutsche Börse have the same business model, could be a sign that his exchange is making advances towards Deutsche Börse.
