US carbon market beginning to take shape

The US carbon emissions market has been slowly beginning to take shape as federal legislation continued to be debated and state and regional groups put together their own trading schemes.
California and a group of nine North East states called Regional Greenhouse Gas Emissions (RGGE) have been moving ahead with plans to launch their own cap-and-trade programmes, emissions experts speaking at Environmental Trading Congress in New York said last week.
