Nasdaq hire moves exchange into new product design space


The appointment of Steven Bloom as Nasdaq's senior vice president of its financial products was intended to lead it to developing its own derivatives products to license and sell to other exchanges.

In the newly created post, Bloom will head an 11-person group that has been earmarked to develop new Nasdaq indices, financial products and derivative securities as well as the marketing of Nasdaq indices and Nasdaq-sponsored ETFs.
