SFE electricity futures booming

Trading in Australia's electricity futures contracts surged this year and represented a record 42% of electricity system demand in the country's National Electricity Market. The business rose 154% from the same seven month period last year.
The contracts, launched in 2002 under a co-sponsored arrangement between Sydney Futures Exchange (SFE) and D-CyphaTrade, also set a record of 11.8m megawatt hours (MWh) in July, equivalent to A$432m ($330m) and up 35% from the previous record set...
