Eurex's plan to obtain UK regulated status for its clearinghouse is, on the surface, a fairly unremarkable move. After all, almost half the exchange's business comes from London so it seems to make sense to offer your largest market the simplest regulatory structure possible - even if it does seem to have managed perfectly well without for the preceding decade.
However, there are other issues at play...
