LSE to launch commodity ETFs as alternative to futures


London Stock Exchange (LSE) has announced plans to launch a new ETF-style market segment for exchange traded commodities, in a move intended to provide an alternative to traditional futures markets. The offering was to include 32 exchange traded commodities and commodity indices, designed to "offer investors a way to access a broad range of commodities without the need to trade futures and options," according to an LSE statement.
