Sumitomo to charge Hamanaka
Sumitomo Corporation broke its silence last week to announce that it plans to press criminal charges against its former head copper trader, Yasuo Hamanaka. Sumitomo president Kenji Miyahara said that the losses mounted to $2.6bn, slightly higher than the $1.8bn estimated on 14 June, but would be covered in the current fiscal year.
