Nymex could beat LME to mini metals on screen


Votes by New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) shareholders and Comex members, expected towards the end of October, could see the besieged exchange beat London Metal Exchange (LME) to be first to roll out mini base metal contracts. A succesful vote could also herald the expansion of Nymex's product suite as well as side-by-side trading of full size metals contracts.

If Nymex was to turn out its mini-size contracts, which would be traded on the Globex platform licensed from Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), observers have said that it could put LME at a disadvantage given the much smaller distribution...
