NYSE Arca, which launched a new options trading platform in August, has regained some marketshare and said it is ready to do battle on price in the increasingly competitive options exchange space.
In August, NYSE Arca switched to a new options trading platform and grabbed a 9.6% marketshare and 9.4% in September, ending a string of reductions in marketshare over the past year. NYSE Arca's marketshare plummeted from 11.4% in January to a low of 8% in June before rebounding slightly to 8.7% in July using its previous PCX Plus platform, according to figures from Options Clearing Corporation.
